2009 Most Dangerous US Cities
CQ Press has released it’s most dangerous US cities list for 2008 using FBI crime data. Camden, New Jersey has received the unlucky number one rating as the US’s most dangerous city. Rounding out the top five most dangerous cities are, 2. St. Louis, Missouri, 3. Oakland, California, 4. Detroit, Michigan and 5. Flint, Michigan. Michigan has the unwanted distinction of having two cities in the top five,
To qualify, cities must have a population of at least 75,000 people. CQ Press uses FBI crime statistics to determine the rankings. The following crimes are used and carry the same amount of weight in the study. Aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, murder, rape and robbery. I know if I lived in one of these cities, I would have some sort of home alarm system for my property.
